Sponsored Olympic Event

On February 24th we welcomed Olympic athlete Laura Turner at Halstow. Laura is the third fastest British woman of all time! She has been running for 7 years and has won many medals such as: 2003: 6th place for GB under 23’s Championships Relay, 2004: 2nd place in under 23s nations 100m, 2006: silver media in Commonwealth Games 4x100m relay, 2008: Summer Olympics 100m sprint!

Whilst visiting us at Halstow, Laura worked with all classes and the children all took part in Circuit Training where they had to complete a range of drills including spotty dogs, star jumps, press ups and leg drives! Her visit was part of a sponsorship event with Sports 4 All where the aim was to raise money for the Sports 4 All charity and the school.

Well done to everyone at Hlasow who managed to raise over £1000 for charity and the school!
